There aren’t enough hours in the day. How many times have we heard that phrase? I used to think it was true. And in certain times in my life I think it really is…like the newborn stage. But it shouldn’t be 100% true all of the time.
We are in charge of how we spend that time. We get the same 24 hours that everyone else does. So how do you want to spend it?
Stuck on social media constantly? That was me. Scrolling. Scrolling. Scrolling. Way too much. Always watching Netflix? Also me. Putting off chores? Guilty.
But there are so many other things I’d rather be doing. I’d rather work on the quilt that is a wedding gift for some friends of ours. Or read books to my little guy. I’d rather go for a long walk. So why wasn’t I doing those things?
Good question right? Do we ever stop to think why aren’t we doing those things? What’s stopping us? What’s holding you back?
I can’t say it’s the housework because I’ve finally gotten a handle on that. Need help with that? Click here. 😉 In fact doing all of the things listed above are the whole reasons WHY I simplified and minimized our whole house. I didn’t want to spend my entire day focused on STUFF.
I think it’s easy to take that suddenly free time and fill it with crap again. Even if it’s just social media and tv. It takes time to build good habits especially when we are trying to break old ones. So give yourself a bit of grace today and try again tomorrow.
Tomorrow is always a new day to get a fresh start and try again. Don’t let yesterday keep you from trying harder today.
You can do this.
